in style. back to work

when i decided to quit my job and become a stay-at-home-mom i know right then that it wouldn’t be a forever case. i’m fully aware that in due time i will go back to work and do what i really love doing. that due time, my friend has finally arrive (it would be earlier if only i accepted the previous offer). after 3 years ++ of being SAHM today I’m officially back to corporate world. goodbye freedom, hello client meetings and monthly quotas.

i wouldn’t deny that part of me is sad, sad because i will miss my daughter terribly but this change is for her and for my sanity.

so, here i am going back to work but as i looked at my wardrobe my clothes are no longer corporate approve! ha! someone needs to go shopping really soon.

here’s my inspiration for my going-back-to-work-shopping and to those who needed to update their work wear too.

lately, I have been slacking in reading (blame it to free fall game on my iPad). but in between playing, instagram-ing, and occupying my little girl I’m also reading this book. This book reminds me of Nick and Norah’s infinite playlist movie only this book is cheesier (in a good way, of course). It reminds me of how to be young and in love. I cannot not wait to finish this book,  reviews says that this has pretty amazing ending..

I haven’t done this for quiet awhile and it feels good to finally sit down and write an update for my growing – inquisitive – mischevious little girl.

this weekend was spent attending to two different parties. saturday was at my nephew/ god son 1st birthday party with a summer – spongebob theme. and sunday was at DH colleague’s daughter 4th birthday party with frozen theme. if my litol girl is already excited for her own birthday before this weekend it was doubled up after she attended two parties in a row, she can’t stop asking when is her birthday!

3. summer is upon us in my side of the world (though i live in a tropical country, but still).

4. i’d like to believe that my (limited) skills in photoshop is improving (i still have to ask, confirm with my DH about that. I will get back with you on his comment. haha!!)

Hahahaha!!!! the way she puts it it seems like her life is at risk. hahaha!!!

Oh, Indigo you never fail to make me laugh so hard and melt my heart at the same time.

i don’t know if it’s the Chinese blood in me that absolutely love chinese food. i mean, chinese food is the ultimate comfort food, right? what I’m saying is, if you want to make me happy just feed me chinese food!

ever since we settled back here in Cebu we’ve been searching high and low for the famous XLB or xiaolongbao. every month i will crave for this food and i will pray that din tai fung will open up here in cebu. or sometime i pray that i have a power to aparate then i will definitely be in singapore or in hong kong just to eat din tai fung. i know, i’m crazy.

so, last sunday we went to SSY Plaza in Lahug because the husband said that there’s a not so old restaurant there that serves XLB. you said xiaolongbao? we are so going there!

top photos are some of the food we’ve ordered, we also ordered yeung chow fried rice and 2 kinds combination soup noodles which is basically a combination of beef brisket and dumpling. their xiaolongbao is not bad at all, it’s good enough (at least for me because i have din tai fungi standard for xlb). but their sweet and sour pork is great, my daughter loves it! all in all the food was good. and oh, their prices are pocket friendly too, the XLB is only 90 php per serving (4 pcs. per serve), roughly price range are 80 php to 200 php. not bad. i just hope though they will have a bigger place but i’ve read they are opening soon in Crossroads Banilad, maybe that place will be bigger?
