i don’t know if it’s the Chinese blood in me that absolutely love chinese food. i mean, chinese food is the ultimate comfort food, right? what I’m saying is, if you want to make me happy just feed me chinese food!
ever since we settled back here in Cebu we’ve been searching high and low for the famous XLB or xiaolongbao. every month i will crave for this food and i will pray that din tai fung will open up here in cebu. or sometime i pray that i have a power to aparate then i will definitely be in singapore or in hong kong just to eat din tai fung. i know, i’m crazy.
so, last sunday we went to SSY Plaza in Lahug because the husband said that there’s a not so old restaurant there that serves XLB. you said xiaolongbao? we are so going there!
top photos are some of the food we’ve ordered, we also ordered yeung chow fried rice and 2 kinds combination soup noodles which is basically a combination of beef brisket and dumpling. their xiaolongbao is not bad at all, it’s good enough (at least for me because i have din tai fungi standard for xlb). but their sweet and sour pork is great, my daughter loves it! all in all the food was good. and oh, their prices are pocket friendly too, the XLB is only 90 php per serving (4 pcs. per serve), roughly price range are 80 php to 200 php. not bad. i just hope though they will have a bigger place but i’ve read they are opening soon in Crossroads Banilad, maybe that place will be bigger?
us while waiting for our food. her “angry” face.
all smile already when we went to starbucks.

this song is love-at-first-hear. You have no idea how many times I click repeat.
I wanted to dress her in chambray button down so we can be matchy matchy but heaven and earth she fought. She doesn’t want to wear the button down or a jeans, she wants to wear dress just like a princess do, “like Queen Elsa and Princess Anna”! I told her even princess do wear jeans and button downs but she’s still not buying it and again the conversation went back to Queen Elsa and Princess Anna. So, I rest my case and let her wear what she wants. All these she’s wearing in the photo are hers, from the dress down to the accessories. And including the personality too. 🙂
At least she still chose a chambray dress, we were still matchy matchy that Valentine night.
A glimpse of what our Valentine’s day looks like. Dinner at Tonkatsu. Playdate with my litol girl.

From the q’s, we wish everyone a happy valentines day! we hope that you all have a lovely time with your love ones, celebrating in a grand way or not.

I was looking for a book that is something light to read after I finished reading the And the mountains echoed, I was choosing between where’d you go, bernadette and rosie’s project and this book won because I let my 3 year old daughter chose for me (she said, you read this meme because I like the cover. The girl is wearing shades like Indi).
Boy oh boy, this book doesn’t disappoint, I’m still on the first chapter but I’m already loving this book. I love how this book is written, it’s sharp and witty. I love the kooky characters. Nothing deep here just fun, fun, fun.
Now, excuse me as I go back devouring the pages of this book.
